Job description

Internal controls and compliance

  • Review Management Reconciliation File.
  • Prepare and post journals for finance function.
  • Draft Policies and Procedures.
  • Monitor SAP Compliance.

Routine Accounting

  • Calculate and process Incidence Adjustments
  • Taxation Journals – prep and posting
  • Preparation of Tax Computation
  • Computing dividend recommendations
  • Petty cash balances every month

SAP Month End Close

  • Compile and communicate schedule for SAP Month End Close timelines
  • Perform system verifications for SAP Actuals Month End Close.
  • All relevant stakeholders are informed timeously of the month end close timelines and requirements.
  • FI checker review has been performed for clearance of respective accounts and orders
  • All outstanding items are resolved for clearance.

Financial Year End

  • Issue financial year end instructions to all financial constituents in the business.
  • Liaison with external auditors to plan the external audit time table.
  • Manage FI Close at year end.
  • Review year end management reconciliation packs.

Budgeting

  • Balance sheet budgeting for the tactical plan (1year – 12month budget, three annual High level plan).
  • Compilation of Income Statement budgets for finance cost centers.
  • Compilation of Income Statement budgets for Country team.
  • Accountants are accurately amended in SAP
    • Agile in thinking and nimble in decision making
    • Adept at discerning and balancing the most important priorities (simplifies complexity)
    • Simplifies the decision making process for self and others
    • Efficiently applies rigour and operating discipline to ensure decisions are made on a timely basis
    • Exhibits high level of financial pragmatism and prudent financial judgment.
    • Thrives in ambiguity and effectively applies sound intuition/judgment.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s degree, CPA K/ACCA

    Experience

    • Minimum 5 years in Financial accounting.
    • Experience working on SAP.
    • Working knowledge of internal controls – specifically at manufacturing site level.
