Job description

Kenya Forest Service is a corporate body established under the Forest Conservation and Management Act no 34 of 2016 (henceforth referred to as the Act). The Act which was operationalized on 31st March 2017, gave the Service’s mandate as “to provide for the development and sustainable management, including conservation and rational utilization of all forest resources for the socioeconomic development of the country and for connected purposes”.

  • Aircraft maintenance Diploma;
  • Aircraft maintenance Certificate
  • Aviation Security training (AVSEC)
  • Crew resource Management training;
  • Dangerous Goods training;
  • Relevant aircraft type ratings;
  • Proficiency in Computer Applications
  • Fulfils Chapter six of the Constitution of Kenya

Skills/ Attributes

  • Good analytical skills;
  • flexibility to work long /any hours including weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, call outs in varying climatic conditions;

An officer at this level shall report to a Senior officer.

Duties and responsibilities;

  • Assisting in Establishing maintenance procedures for maintenance activities under Kenya Civil Aviation Regulations (KCARs) Aviation responsibility, as required for safety and standardization;
  • Assisting assuring that all maintenance is completed in a timely manner;
  • Assisting in preparing the fire bucket and fixing onto and removing from the aircraft during firefighting operations;
  • Assisting in establishing priorities to ensure aircraft are available as required by Flight Operations within the limits of the maintenance resources;
  • Assisting maintaining the premises of the Maintenance Department in a clean and orderly manner;
  • Assisting coordinating maintenance with approved Aircraft Maintenance Organization. (In case of maintenance works contracted to external Aircraft Maintenance Organization)
  • Assisting initiating purchase requisitions for stock as required.
  • Assisting revising Technical Service Manual and General Maintenance Manual as required.
  • Promote public values and principles
  • Mentoring and coaching
