Veteran Mission Hospitals Limited was born from the identification of the presence of a huge gap in the medical industry which is between what the people need and what is available in the industry.

Are you skilled in financial management and passionate about ensuring accessible healthcare services? Veteran Mission Hospital in Syokimau, Nairobi, is seeking three diligent and experienced Credit Officers to join our team and manage patient credit and financial arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and assess the creditworthiness of patients seeking financial assistance for healthcare services.
  • Develop and implement credit policies and procedures to minimize financial risk and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Negotiate payment plans and financial arrangements with patients based on their financial situations and hospital policies.
  • Educate patients on available financial assistance programs and options.
  • Monitor and follow up on overdue accounts receivable to ensure timely collections.
  • Coordinate with billing and finance departments to reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient credit transactions and communications.
  • Provide regular reports on credit activities and account statuses to management.
  • Handle inquiries and disputes related to patient accounts and credit arrangements.
  • Collaborate with insurance companies and third-party payers to facilitate claims processing and payments.
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of patient financial information in compliance with HIPAA and other privacy regulations.
  • Participate in continuous training and professional development to stay updated on financial regulations and healthcare industry trends.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to improve financial performance and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in credit management or financial services, preferably in a hospital.
  • Strong knowledge of credit evaluation principles, financial analysis, and risk management.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to ethical conduct and confidentiality.
