The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:
- Continuously monitor networks for security breaches and investigate violations when they occur.
- Respond to and investigate cyber security incidents, including data breaches, malware infections, and phishing attacks.
- Implement and manage intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests.
- Identify potential security weaknesses and develop mitigation plans.
- Stay updated on the latest cyber threats and security trends.
- Document security incidents, including the details of the incident, response actions, and lessons learned.
- Prepare detailed reports for management on security status and incidents.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of security policies, procedures, and standards.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of security policies, procedures, and standards.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry security standards.
- Promote security awareness by developing and delivering training to staff.
- Assist in the design and implementation of secure network architectures.
- Recommend and implement security enhancements to existing systems.
- Evaluate and recommend new security tools and technologies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the IT security industry, including awareness of new or revised security solutions, improved security processes, and the development of new attacks and threat vectors.
- Continuously improve security processes and tools to protect against evolving threats.
- Manage and audit user access to systems and information to ensure compliance with policies.
To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:
- Grade 12 Certificate.
- BS in Computer Science, MIS or similar field.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent.
- Experience in an information security role.
- Experience with security technologies such as firewalls, antivirus, SIEM, IDS/IPS, and encryption tools.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
