Responsibilities and Duties
Th Finance Officer as the Chief Accounting Officer of the University and the Chief Financial Advisor to theVice Chancellor:

• Has the general responsibility for the administration of the financial affairs of the University that will ensure its financial wellbeing and will exercise direct supervision over all accounting officers;
• Is responsible for collecting University’s legitimate revenue
• Exercise control over expenditure in line with the University’s objectives and budget;
Prepares the annual budget of the University for presentation to the appropriate governing body for approval and implementation;
• Liaises with the University’s appointed external auditors to get the University’s financial statements audited.
• Ensures that the Financial Statements of the University are aligned with the Statutes; • Ensures that financial and the accounting records are maintained in compliance with the General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Performs other functions as it may be given by the Vice Chancellor and the Council Chairman.

Qualifications And Requirements
Applicants must possess a good master’s degree in Finance/Accounting and professional qualification as a Chartered Accountant (CA (Gh), ACCA, CIMA, CPA). Applicants must have served in the same capacity or served as a Deputy Finance Officer in a University or cognate organization for at least four (4) years. In addition, the applicant must:
• Be a good team leader;
• Be analytical, critical, result-oriented, innovative and visionary;
• Must have strong IT skills and familiarity with accounting software;
• Must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines;
• Posses excellent supervisory skills and strong communication skills;
Demonstrate commitment to integrity and right practices.
