To work in HIV and TB care at uMgungundlovu facilities in support of the South Africa Sustainable Response to HIV and AIDS (SA SURE) PRO project. SA SURE PRO aims to strengthen local capacity in the districts served by the project to provide sustainable HIV- and TB-related care and treatment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strengthen the links between the community health workers and the facilities
- Support the strengthening of patient-tracking and referral systems
- Support the establishment and capacity-building of PHC facility committees
- Conduct HIV testing and counselling in the facility
- Conduct ART initiation
- Co-ordinate differentiated care within the facility which includes monitoring of CCMDD registration, spaced fast-lane appointments and the quality of adherence clubs
- Support the establishment of support groups and adherence clubs.
REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma or degree in health or a related field, with three to five years’ experience in Primary Health Care and health information management
- Three to five years’ experience working with HIV and AIDS within the South African public health system
- NIMART or PC-101 certification
- A valid driver’s licence
- Previous work experience with NGOs or PEPFAR-funded programmes would be an advantage.
- Experience in community development would be an advantage.
