Organisational Mission
MTN’s Strategic Facilities such as Switch Centres, Data Centres and Hubs are at the core of MTN’s network functionality. The management of these facilities in relation to the utility providrs is fundamental to their proper functioning. MTN needs to facilitate relationship management with utility providers (municipalities, Eskom, etc.), doing cost saving reconciliations (newly introduced) and thus managing kWh consumption and recoveries thereof and queries as a SPOC for the 30+ Data Centres nationally, all Switching Centres and Hub sites.

KEY DELIVERABLES
• Manage utility payments in respect of strategic technical facilities, such as Switch and Data Centres, amongst others.
• To facilitate relationship management with utility providers (municipalities etc.), doing cost saving reconciliations (newly introduced) and thus managing kWh consumption and recoveries thereof and queries as a SPOC for the 30+ Data Centres nationally.
• Supporting Facilities with utility payments, processing of invoices, recovery of overpayments and reconciling utility payments and statements and, working with the Network Operations Team, Property Team and Accounts Payable responsible for maintenance and upkeep of strategic Hub and Switch sites to ensure an efficient and effective network operations.
• To ensure timeous payments to utility providers, avoid overpayments to and to ensure recoveries for overpayments.
• The Administrator is to ensure that processes are understood support continuous improvements of the processes, ensure good performance and optimize quality and timeous deliveries.
• The incumbent requires excellent administrative skills, organisational skills, good accounting acumen, the ability to support efficient and effective processes, have good attention to detail to drive high quality, accurate and complete submissions.
• An understanding of utility invoices and leases and all associated charges
• Loading and processing of utility invoicing and processing of invoices.
• Liaising with AP Team regarding creditors amounts due (if amount is due from suppliers).
• Issuing of Statements/Invoices to utility providers for recoveries.
• Follow up of outstanding payments with utility providers.
• Reconciling Items. I.e. Completeness + Accuracy of utilities Invoiced.
• Liaising with Property and Operations Teams.
• Liaising with the revenue team on interconnect charges to be set-off.
• Revenue share and other revenue recoveries.
• Dealing with Queries in relation to utility invoices and charges.
• The ability to work in team with multiple stakeholders through MTNSA.
• Taking ownerships for development and training requirements.
REPORTING
• To provide Senior Management with accurate reporting on payments and usage as may be required.
• To ensure accurate reporting and reflecting correct information so that Senior management may review usage and spend.
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
• Assist the Senior Manager with the Forecasting, planning, development and reviewing of capital expenditure and operational expenditure budgets in line with MTN SA financial requirements
• Identify cost efficiencies and best practice related to strategic facilities
• Partner with finance to resolve delays in payments
• Set future budget requirements to operations
• Provide efficient resource utilization and allocation
Qualifications
Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)
Education:
• Minimum: Certificate in Administration, Office Management, or equivalent. Accounting Diploma advantageous.
• Required: Microsoft Office experience, in particular Excel. Certificates advantageous.
Experience:
• Minimum: At least 5 years’ experience in Finance environment.
• Minimum: At least 3 years’ experience in Telco Finance environment.
