Kingdom First Capital Ltd (KFC) is an ambitious “big heart” microfinance institution providing group, individuals loans and funding to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. We are currently searching for a dynamic and energetic CEO to execute the next phase of our transformation that will transition us to market leadership.
The CEO must be a creative visionary strategist, entrepreneurial by nature, courageous, tenacious, and passionate.

The CEO will provide clear direction to a rapidly evolving institution, ensuring solid operating and financial performance, and have exceptional people management skills in recruiting and developing the talent needed to accomplish high performance standards, and implementing new operational systems and procedures. He/she must possess a mind of steel capable of working under heavy pressure from highly demanding and difficult shareholders both local and international.
The position will be tenable in either Lilongwe or Blantyre and is open to all citizens and residents of Malawi with valid transferable work permit.

Responsibilities

•Articulate a clear vision for achieving the ambitious growth strategy outlined in the strategic plan and for positioning KFC as a leading provider of high-quality financial products;
•Develop, enact and optimise an operational strategy that enhances KFC’s operational agility, capacity and capability, and ensure that an ethical culture of fairness is embedded in the company’s activities;
•Implement strategic change initiatives that enhance KFC’s overall mission, and which anticipate to external opportunities and emerging challenges;
•Identify important areas for market innovation and lead the development of solutions that drive customer acquisition, customer retention, product usage and revenue growth;
•Develop and foster a stakeholder engagement strategy that amplifies new and existing partnerships and advances the commercial ambitions;
•Develop and implement sales and marketing campaigns to drive loan book growth in a cost-effective manner and in-line with set targets;
•Prepare yearly budget for Board approval and prudently manage KFC’s resources within the budgeted guidelines and relevant laws and regulations;
•Ensure that the operation is up to date on all relevant legislation and regulations and report appropriately and timeously to all relevant authorities;
•Effectively recruit, manage human capital resource in accordance with a high-performance culture and within authorised policies and procedures;
•Ensure that KFC’s image is consistently presented in a strong and positive light to relevant stakeholders;
•Develop and maintain our corporate culture, values and reputation in the market and with our staff, customers, suppliers, partners and regulatory bodies;
•Report to the Shareholders/Board on organisational plans and performance; and
•Oversee day-to-day administrative functions to ensure smooth daily operations.

Requirements
•A Bachelors’s degree in microfinance, banking, accounting, business administration, economics, finance, management or a related field. A Masters degree will be an added advantage;
•A minimum of 7 years’ experience hands-on direct experience at the senior management level in fintech, retail banking, development finance or microfinance operations;
•Thorough knowledge of financial services risks, principles and practices, and current trends and developments in the microfinance industry;
•A passion for financial inclusion and women’s empowerment;
•Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication and influencing skills, as well as demonstrated experience leading and building cohesive, high performing teams; and
•Knowledge of Malawi and general Microfinance laws relating to financial services, particularly Micro-lending is essential.

Compensation
An annual cost to company remuneration package, which will be commensurate with the technical skills and experience of the successful candidate.
