Responsible for communicating a shared technical and architectural vision across IT Architecture the Old Mutual Rest of Africa Businesses/ Segments.The respective IT portfolios must be kept in line with the OML Enterprise IT Architecture and governance to ensure fitness for purpose and compliance.

Defines a solution and ensure that it Meets the business and non-functional requirements, based on DevOps, Cloud Based and SRE practices and aligns to the guidelines laid down by the Enterprise Architecture principles and patterns.

Contributes to definition, refinement and documentation of future-fit Solution Architecture patterns and guidelines.

Focus on the technical and business feasibility of a solution and ensure that it fits within well-established patterns and guidelines as agreed to by the Enterprise Architecture principles.

Takes responsibility for the quality, commercial compliance, and technical integrity of the solution.

Works actively with software engineers (both internal subject matter experts and those of the chosen suppliers) to ensure that patterns incorporated are future fit and ensures scalability and resilience of the solution built.

•   Facilitate segment IT architectural submissions to the   relevant governance boards.

• Provide input when engaging technology-related suppliers and guide business and IT through the request for information, proposal, and quotation processes.
• Research and advise the business on new technology for continuous improvement

Education & Skills

Bachelor’s in information technology, Computer Science, Computer engineering or a related field.

Experience in financial services platforms

AWS Solution Architect Certification

At least 2 years’ experience in documenting solution designs (conceptual, logical, and physical)

Understanding of SAFe Agile Delivery and DevSecOps principles.
