Are you a results-driven individual with a knack for effective debt recovery? Spectrum Credit is looking for a dedicated Collections Officer to join our team in Lusaka, Zambia. As a Collections Officer, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our debt recovery processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee Debtors List: Efficiently manage and monitor the debtors list, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Negotiate Payments and Repayment Plans: Engage with clients to negotiate payment terms and establish feasible repayment plans.

Investigate and Resolve Discrepancies: Conduct thorough investigations to identify and resolve any discrepancies in accounts.

Handle Questions and Complaints: Address client inquiries and complaints professionally, providing satisfactory resolutions.

Conduct Field Recovery: Execute field recovery activities for loan collections, ensuring compliance with established procedures.

Track and Report Collection Activities: Maintain accurate records of collection activities and provide regular reports to management.

Review and Update Account Status: Regularly review and update the status of accounts in the collection process.

Maintain Payment Promise Log: Document payment promises and relevant account details, scheduling timely follow-up communications.

Advise Clients on Payment Options: Provide guidance to clients on available payment options, suggesting methods for effective debt settlement.

Sell Off Accounts: Manage the sale of accounts in arrears, drop-offs, and those submitted unsuccessfully to other institutions.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Collections Officer or similar role.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of debt collection laws and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Degree/ Diploma in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field will be a plus
