MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Database Administrator is responsible for the effective management, security, and performance of the organization’s databases across various IT projects. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining robust database systems to ensure data availability, integrity, and scalability. The incumbent will work closely with development teams, system architects, and analysts to optimize database architecture, support application development, and enable efficient data-driven operations.
Key Responsibilities

v. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve database issues promptly to minimize downtime.
vi. Collaboration: Work with software developers to design scalable data schemas to support application development and data analysis needs.
vii. Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of database configurations, procedures, and policies.
viii. Lead data migration for system upgrades or new deployments |
Qualifications
i. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. ii. Work experience: 3+ years of experience in database administration. iii. Skills: Hands-on experience with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server). |
Technical Skills
i. Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL programming. ii. Experience with database design and modeling. iii. Familiarity with cloud database technologies (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database). iv. Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes. v. Knowledge of database security practices and compliance standards. |

Complete all planned data migrations with 100% data integrity and zero critical errors during system upgrades or deployments.
- Issue Resolution Time
Resolve 100% of high-priority database incidents within 4 hours and standard issues within 24 hours, ensuring minimal service disruption.
