Main duties and responsibilities
The Cyber Security Specialist will influence decision-making through quality and depth of analytical insights and recommendations for improvement. In particular, s/he will focus on the following:
Cyber Security Management and Compliance
• Policy adherence in the management of the information system environment.
• Ensure that the best practices are followed in terms of configuration, system integration and third-party connections.
• Manage and report on cyber security key risk indicators and ensuring that they are within required thresholds.
• Provide assurance in compliance to the local regulations and legislative recommendations in the management of cyber security.
• Provide executive reports to management on the state of cyber security and the effectiveness of the controls in place.
• Assess the environment and recommend the best security controls to management with their associated benefits.
• Oversee the Vulnerability management program and activities.
• Implement and maintain security controls.
Threat Management and Reporting
• Report on key metrics on system performance and upgrade recommendations
• Attack monitoring and threat reporting.
• Evaluate and analyze current threats in the industry and recommend the best security requirements.
• Perform threat hunting and defensive activities.
• Analyze data collected from systems for risk analysis and decision making.
• Development of threat prevention strategies
Project Management
• Work closely with project team members to understand the project and ensure that the security objectives are well defined and infused in the duration of the project.
• Actively participates in system development and be able to guide on the best security recommendations.
• Perform cyber risk analysis on projects.
Training and awareness
• Provide awareness training sessions both physically and virtually.
• Manage induction training and compliance for new joiners.
• Ensure completeness and improvement of staff awareness in simulation tests and activities.
Team Collaboration
• Collaborate with teams within the Business on projects.
• Provide both technical and nontechnical support when required.
• Provide cyber security consulting services within the Business when required.
• Take the initiative to progress and deliver own and team/unit work.
• Contribute to allocation of responsibilities and resources to ensure achievement of team/unit goals.
• Participate in meetings, present information on program/project status.
• Support team members and work collaboratively to achieve business outcomes.
Education
Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Physical, Mathematical, Computer and Life Sciences (Required)
