Job description

Responsibilities 

Drive the official vehicle and provide reliable and safe driving:

Ensure transportation of authorized personnel 

Provide shuttles to/from the airport for staff on official missions,

Ensure the management of teams for project missions,

Doing errands for the office, 

Maintain assigned vehicles:

Take care of the daily maintenance of the vehicle in charge, and make the necessary and timely arrangements for repairs in the event of a breakdown,

Ensure daily maintenance of the vehicle, as well as checking the oil, water and vehicle components that must be functional at all times,

Check the vehicle’s mileage and record it whenever you travel.

Track the validity of documents and parts:

Monitoring and updating of insurance documents and other vehicle parts,

Ensure that all formalities provided for by the regulations are completed in the event of an accident,

Maintain the vehicle’s technical sheet while ensuring proper fuel management and the validity of parts,

Ensure compliance with current regulations:

Ensure that immediate action as required by regulations is taken in the event of involvement in an accident

Provide advice regarding local traffic rules laws

Education:
A high school diploma is required

A bachelor’s degree would be an asset

Experience:

The person recruited will be subject to compliance with the regulations in force within the United Nations System. He/she undertakes to devote his/her time and activities to the functions assigned to him/her and not to provide any information of a confidential nature that he/she may have become aware of in the course of his/her work. 

In addition, the person is expected to:

A minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience is required,

A good knowledge of the internal roads of the CAR is a requirement,

Training and/or experience in mechanics,

Knowledge of exemption and customs clearance procedures would be an asset,

Having work experience within the United Nations system, Donors or NGOs would be an asset,

Having completed first aid training is an asset.

Language:

Being able to speak, write and read French fluently is required

Certification:

Having a valid Category B driving license is required,

Having a heavy goods vehicle driving license would be an asset.
