Kyeema has a requirement for a short term replacement for our Ethiopian Office Finance and Administration Officer (maternity leave). The Finance and Administration Officer is responsible for the efficient and effective management of financial and administrative functions within Kyeema Ethiopia. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring compliance with financial regulations, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting administrative operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management:
- Assist in preparation and monitoring for the Kyeema Ethiopia budget.
- Record financial transactions and maintain accurate accounting records both in Excel and in QuickBooks.
- Ensure compliance with Ethiopian financial regulations and donor requirements.
- Manage payroll and employee reimbursements.
- Monitor cash flow and maintain banking relationships.
2. Grant Management:
- Assist in the preparation of grant proposals and budgets.
- Ensure compliance with donor grant agreements.
- Prepare financial reports for donors and grantors.
- Track expenses related to specific grants and projects.
3. Administration:
- Oversee the day-to-day administrative functions of the organization.
- Manage procurement, inventory, and assets.
- Supervise support staff, if applicable.
- Ensure the office operates efficiently and safely.
4. Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure all financial and administrative activities comply with Ethiopian laws and regulations.
- Prepare financial reports for management and board meetings.
- Assist with the annual audit process.
- Maintain records and documentation for compliance and reporting.
5. Donor and Stakeholder Relations:
- Act as a point of contact for financial and administrative inquiries from donors and stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, auditors, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Proven experience in financial management and administration, ideally in the not-for-profit sector.
- Strong understanding of Ethiopian financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (ideally Quickbooks) and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Written and spoken English and Amharic preferred.
