Finance Officer at Umunthu Plus (UP), Nkhotakota, Malawi

Umunthu Plus (UP) is a Malawian not for profit organization registered with Government of Malawi, Council for Non-Governmental Organization of Malawi (CONGOMA) and NGO Regulatory Authority (NGORA). Umunthu Plus is implementing programs focusing on health, education, Agriculture and Climate Change, Humanitarian, Gender & human rights and general livelihood targeting most vulnerable populations.

Key Responsibilities

Generating budgets, projects future cash flows, and offering regular financial analyses.
Ensure accurate budgets monitoring and budget balance check
Creating accounting-related reports and documentation for management approval
Prepare Payments and Incomes ledgers and ensure the supporting documents are as per the organisations guidelines and policies.
Ensure a proper archiving of vouchers and other financial documents
Ensure the counterterrorism & anti-money laundering compliance policy of Umunthu Plus for any new vendor, partner, beneficiary, bank signatories among others.
Planning, coordinating and managing accounting and financial activities
Preparing internal and external audits

Qualification and Experience:

University degree in Finance, Accounting

Practical Experience in MS office (especially in MS Excel), quick books
Minimum of 3 years’ experience Finance and accounting in humanitarian context
