The applicant should possess the following skills, qualities and experience:
• Minimum 10 years work experience in a similar role.
• Minimum 5 years industry experience working in Uganda.
• Candidates with a Masters degree in a related field will be given preference.
• Very strong business accounting knowledge with an in-depth understanding of local practices and statutory requirements.
• Experience and thorough understanding in filing monthly and annual tax returns, EFRIS, and carrying out ledger reconciliations to ensure all company records are aligned with the tax authority.
• Minimum 5 years experience working with Tally9 ERP accounting software and carrying out internal audits.
• Excellent communication, leadership and organisation skills.
• Self-driven and motivated to achieve the goals set by the company.
• High level of integrity with uncompromising ethics and morals, both professional and personal.
• Proficiency in the English language, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure to meet the set deadlines.
