Job description

Responsible for the management of all donor contracts in the Country Office.

Ensure compliance with grant requirements, including monitoring grant expenditures and ensuring that the funds are used in accordance with the grant’s requirements.

Communicate effectively with the donor and respond to email in a timely fashion.

Coordinate with the program team in proposal budget development and ensure all the country office costs are included in the new proposal budget.

Own the quality and timeliness of the final product in the grant development and funding process and the satisfaction of the donor.

Coordinate with the Global Office Budget Development team and ensure that the budget development is finalized on time and sufficient time is allowed for the review of the budget by the CO team (CFM and CD)

Assist the CFM in the development of the Country Office Annual Plan (COP) and ensure that all costs in the COP are populated correctly and included.

Lead in the management of all sub-awards in the Country Office and ensure maximum compliance and alignment with SNV’s programming principles, policies, and all applicable donor laws, rules, and regulations by local implementation Partners.

Ensure that appropriate due diligence is conducted, and the partner meets the minimum criteria to receive and manage the donor funding and assigned activities by SNV.

Ensure that partner advances are released timely, and liquidations are followed and avoid additional advances unless 75% of the previous advance is settled.

Follow up with the grants specialists/officers conducting periodic visits and reviews of the systems and process of the sub-grantee and conduct the periodic monitoring of the cost incurred and reported.

Responsible for the supervision and talent development of staff directly reporting to this position (if applicable).

Adopt SNV’s Annual Performance Assessment policy and process to include the preparation and monitoring of Annual Performance and Accountability Plans (APAAs) for all staff reporting to this position.

Minimum Requirements:

BA degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

A minimum of ten years of relevant work experience in finance of which at least five years must have been in a similar position.

Development-oriented NGO experience.

Experience with USG and other donor contract monitoring and reporting.

Good communication and presentation skills.

Well organized and able to act professionally and ethically.

Good skills in computer applications (Especially in Microsoft applications).

Firm belief in teamwork, gender equality, participatory approach, and sustainable development.

Having an experience in financial software is preferable.
