Responsible for maintaining all electrical and mechanical equipment to function at maximum capacity and ensure effective utilization of Mill capacity.
THE JOB
- Develop, implement, oversee, and coordinate preventive and predictive maintenance activities of all machineries, equipment, etc. in the Business Unit for smooth running of the production activities to meet business goals.
- Monitor the fabrication, building and installation of new machines and equipment.
- Manage the engineering expenses against budget of the Business Unit to drive efficient cost per ton, effective man-hour per ton and overall business efficiency
- Responsible for departmental compliance with HSE policies and programs geared towards a safe working environment by taking appropriate safety measures/actions in conjunction with the HSE department.
- Monitor the inventory management spare parts to ensure the availability of engineering spares for timely corrective maintenance of the milling machines/equipment.
THE PERSON MUST
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to investigate and identify root causes behind H&S issues/incidents and develop pragmatic options for resolution.
- Audio/visual skills in presentation of information and training material are essential.
- Enthusiastic with the ability to drive and enforce standards and influence people
- Be proficient with Microsoft office suite or related software.
QUALIFICATION
- B.Eng. or HND in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines
EXPERIENCE
- 5 years’ cognate experience with at least 3 years in active maintenance planning.
