The Manager Project Preparation & Investor Support will support the Bank’s clientele (both Private and public sector clients) to structure and execute complex financial transactions ensuring they align with UDBL’s strategic objectives and risk appetite.
ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT
The Manager Project Preparation & Investor Support will be responsible for delivery of the Bank’s strategy for providing non-financial development interventions in the country there by contributing to the Bank’s High Impact Goals (HIGs).
PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the structuring of financial transactions including project finance, public-private partnerships (PPPs), and syndicated loans.
Develop and analyze financial models to assess transaction viability and optimize financing structures.
Collaborate with legal, risk, and investment teams to ensure transactions are structured in compliance with regulatory requirements and UDBL’s policies.
Engage with clients, investors, and other stakeholders to understand their objectives and provide tailored financing solutions.
Negotiate terms and conditions of transactions with counterparties, ensuring favorable outcomes for UDB and its clients.
Where required, source and support negotiations with equity partners to enable actualization of client projects.
Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for proposed transactions, identifying potential financial, operational, and market risks.
Develop risk mitigation strategies and ensure appropriate covenants and safeguards are incorporated into transaction documents.
Stay abreast of market trends, economic developments, and regulatory changes that may impact transaction structuring.
Provide insights and recommendations on market analysis and transaction performance.
Lead and mentor a team of financial analysts and associates, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
LEVEL OF AUTHORITY
Contact customers & prospective customers on behalf of UDB.
Advise Management on issues relating Investor support services.

QUALIFICATIONS
A Master’s degree in business, Finance, Economics or relevant field of study from a recognized university is a MUST.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering or a related field from a recognized university.
Relevant Post graduate qualification in business, finance, CFA, ACCA will be an added advantage.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Minimum of seven (7) years’ work experience, five (5) of which should have been in the fields of transaction structuring, project or corporate finance in a Development Finance Institution, Investment Bank or Equity fund exposure is desirable.
COMPETENCIES
This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in project finance, financial modelling, and risk assessment & capability of delivering innovative financing solutions to meet clients’ needs.
Proven expertise in financial modelling, valuation, and risk assessment.
Strong understanding of Uganda’s economic landscape and regulatory environment.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience managing high-performing teams.
