The Nurse provides high-quality clinical care and health services to students, staff, and the university community at the in-house University Clinic, promoting health, wellness and preventive care in line with professional nursing standards. Reports to the Clinical In-Charge.
Basic Qualifications
- A Diploma or Certificate in Nursing from a recognized institution.
- At least two (2) years of clinical nursing experience in a busy health facility or clinic setting.
- Possession of current registration and a valid practicing license from the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council (UNMC) shall be an added advantage.

Key Tasks
- Provide direct nursing care, including assessment, treatment of minor ailments, wound care, medication administration, and monitoring of patients at the University Clinic.
- Conduct health education sessions and wellness talks for students and staff on preventive healthcare, hygiene, nutrition, sexual and reproductive health, and lifestyle diseases.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, prepare daily clinic reports, and ensure proper documentation in line with professional standards.
- Offer first aid and emergency care, stabilize patients when necessary, and facilitate timely referral to higher-level health facilities.
- Participate in routine clinic activities such as immunization, health screenings, counselling, and health promotion campaigns.
- Support the Clinical In-Charge in managing clinic inventory, ordering medical supplies, and maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment.
- Advise students and staff on health-related matters and provide psychosocial support where appropriate.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated with current nursing practices, public health guidelines, and emerging health issues.
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and Christian values while fostering a clinic environment characterized by integrity, respect, compassion, and excellence in service delivery.
