RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct detailed eye exams and visual assessments
• Diagnose, refer and treat ocular disease within protocols Prescribe, fit, and adjust eyeglasses, and other vision aids
• Recommend appropriate patient eye care follow-up plans
• Manage detailed orders, finance, shipping administration
• Answer questions and provide advice to clients regarding vision and optical issues and liaise with Ophthalmologists
• Give caring customer service in all patient interactions
• Direct staff and assist in development of a growing practice

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

• Applied understanding of optometry and best practices for diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders and conditions
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to assist clients of diverse backgrounds and proficiency in siSwati. English, Portuguese
• Excellent customer service and practice management skills
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and records
• General computer proficiency and ability to learn programs
• Demonstrated problem solving skills, multitasking capacity

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor Optometry (BO) degree from accredited program Eligible for License with Eswatini Medical Dental Council.
• Min. 5-10 years of experience as independent Optometrist

This position may work in 3 sites: Matsapha, Siteki & Mhlume.
