RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct detailed eye exams and visual assessments
- Diagnose, refer and treat ocular disease within protocols Prescribe, fit, and adjust eyeglasses, and other vision aids
- Recommend appropriate patient eye care follow-up plans
- Manage detailed orders, finance, shipping administration
- Answer questions and provide advice to clients regarding vision and optical issues and liaise with Ophthalmologists
- Give caring customer service in all patient interactions
- Direct staff and assist in development of a growing practice
QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Applied understanding of optometry and best practices for diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders and conditions
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to assist clients of diverse backgrounds and proficiency in siSwati. English, Portuguese
- Excellent customer service and practice management skills
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and records
- General computer proficiency and ability to learn programs
- Demonstrated problem solving skills, multitasking capacity
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor Optometry (BO) degree from accredited program Eligible for License with Eswatini Medical Dental Council.
- Min. 5-10 years of experience as independent Optometrist
This position may work in 3 sites: Matsapha, Siteki & Mhlume.
