The holder will be responsible for leading the Food and Agriculture pillar projects from a social investment lens. They will support all agriculture business activities and initiatives that will further the achievement of the bank’s business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop the Pillar’s strategies & projections, and communicate the same to the team for execution.
• Planning, assigning and supervising pillar projects per sector, at the same time design jobs and specify tasks.
• Set policies and procedures to guide the pillar’s operations but in line with Equity’s policies.
• Mobilize, allocate and manage resources to specific teams, sectors and projects.
• Will be the lead partner relationship manager and will use the opportunity to identify areas Equity can leverage to attain its social, environmental and commercial goals.
• Shall conduct contract reviews and sign documents that require approval from the pillar.
• Establishment and maintaining a close working relationship
• among the pillar team, other departments of the social
• investments, and the Bank to ensure smooth running of the food
• and agriculture pillar social programs and commercial business.
• Aligning and managing the Pillar’s projects and aligning them to the Bank’s objective of driving business through Eco-system banking and sector based approach to business.
• Develop or acquire and manage relevant project tracking tools that will be used to manage implementation of the pillar’s projects.
• Maintaining an excellent working relationship between Equity Group Foundation, the Bank and the partners.
• Promoting/cross selling the Banks’ products to different partners. Support and/ or facilitate market, information/ knowledge and financial linkages and support build-up of business networks for the agriculture eco-system and value chains.
• Linking agriculture partners to specific sectors/individuals to facilitate customer satisfaction in service delivery.
• Ensuring that expected capacity building activities are met, i.e training and mentorship of Equity staff and partners.
• Support and participate in continuous monitoring and evaluation
• of the capacity building activities in conjunction with the partners, using appropriate tools.
• Guide, manage and oversee assigned resources i.e work closely with the director, managers, project staff and other departments.
Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• University degree in the field of Agriculture, sustainable energy, business administration, entrepreneurship, or related fields.
• Master’s degree in Agricultural related fields of study and agribusiness management is an added advantage.
• Strong Managerial and leadership skills.
• Experience in developing, executing, or promoting agricultural projects.
• At least six years’ work experience with a reputable organization especially in agricultural project and people management. •Extensive and demonstrated practical experience in agriculture policy implementation, agricultural extension, agribusiness management, government linkages is an added advantage.
• Similar experience driving agricultural business in a banking environment is an added advantage.
