Job description

The role supports the Head of Supply Chain and the procurement department to develop and implement procurement policies and guidelines for all materials (raw and non-raw material), goods and services in accordance with the group procurement guidelines, statutory regulations and procurement standards and best practice for Group Projects.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:
• Ensure the coordination, development, and adherence of procurement procedures at Uganda Batteries Limited (UBL)
• Ensure that all Projects at UBL meet the Company annual procurement plan.
• Ensure that the sourcing of goods, services and works for all Procurement Projects are as may be required by the company and as per plan.
• Ensure and coordinate the effective sourcing of raw materials in relation to the production demand.
• Ensure presence of adequate materials in line with production plans.
• Coordinate the procurement process, from planning, tendering process, evaluation, and selection, awarding and contracting is in accordance with the set guidelines.
• Ensure the Coordination of logistics related to the importation of goods (ports, customs, clearing, drivers, dispatch of goods from the supplier.
• Monitoring stock levels in collaboration with inventory of the raw material and other materials, supplies needed. Developing and submitting annual, quarterly, monthly, weekly procurement reports

Education and Professional Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in procurement,
• CIPS Professional Diploma in Procurement and Supply

Working Experience:
• A minimum of 6 years’ relevant experience in manufacturing with at least 2 years’ supervisory experience
