Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a highly committed employee for the position of Project Driver – FS (Fixed Term) to join the versatile Administration Department under Mineral Resources Management – FS Section. We are in search of an individual who can champion Barrick’s DNA by:

Reporting to the Travel Coordinator – FS, responsible for providing timely support in all FS Operations and Travel functions across site.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Shuttle employees and visitors, including VIP and ensure the transfers are safe and on time
- Ensure all vehicles are clean, road worthy, in good condition and serviced on time
- Deliver and collect immigration documents at Solwezi Immigration office as and when required
- Shuttle VIPs and other FS Senior Leadership Team as required from time to time.
- Processing of paperwork for payment requests when assigned out of station duties
- Ensure LV pre-start forms are submitted on time
- Check through bus log sheets and verify that they are correct
- Assist with general admin duties i.e. filing and updating of records
- Maintain and develop relationships with stakeholders in LMC’s mining activities, consistent with Barrick’s Community Relations Policies.
- Be visible in the workplace.
- Other operations tasks and projects as assigned from time to time by the supervisor
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Minimum of (2) years experience in a similar position.
- Valid PSV Driver’s License
- Capacity to act as an internal consultant.
- Must have good understanding of defensive driving.
- Experience in the mining industry.
- Experience of working in a large business environment and be able to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proven ability to deliver results and act as a change agent.
- Demonstrated ability to improve a department’s safety awareness.
- Experience in managing department costs and budgeting
- Demonstrated application of continuous improvement ideas
- Able to clearly demonstrate the aptitude to drive a light vehicle and hold a current Zambian drivers licence.
- Be physically fit and be able to pass a pre-employment medical examination. .
- High level understanding of all relevant legislation affecting the employment and safety of persons in the mining industry in Zambia.
