This position oversees financial assessment, budget preparation, financial monitoring, risk management, donor reporting and all financial and management accounting duties. The applicant should demonstrate experience and competence in budgeting, project accounting and financial reporting procedures for large, complex aid-funded projects and efficient systems for managing multiple projects.
Qualifications
Master’s in Business Administration (Accounting or Finance) with Project Management background.
Roles
Maintain financial records for each project in a manner that facilitates management reports.
• Ensure that accurate and timely financial statements are prepared in accordance with contract agreements with funders.
• Provide accurate and timely reporting on the financial activity of individual projects.
• Provide support in the preparation of budget and cash flow for projects and programme implementation and prepare budget tracking analysis and determining variance.
• Effectively control income, cash flow and expenditure
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and adherence to donors’ financial policies, regulations and procedures.
• Prepare accurate, regular and timely financial reports for submission to KHRC management and the donor funders as may be directed by the head of finance.
• Prepare accurate and timely bank reconciliation statements, accounts payable, and account receivables and other reports for submission to KHRC management and for internal and external aud
Experience
Must also have at least 4 years relevant working experience with non-Governmental organizations or research institutions, with skills in project management, Sage Evolution software, Microsoft excel, words and power-point. A good knowledge of internal control systems, financial audit processes, grant management systems and accounting procedures for multi-projects management is essential.
