The Project Finance Officer will be responsible for managing the accounts of various construction projects by creating detailed budgets, overseeing supplier contracts, evaluating production costs and verifying invoice statements. The incumbent should be able to display excellent business acumen and the ability to minimize production costs through efficient accounting.
Duties and Responsibilities

Collaborating with projects manager to develop detailed, cost -effective budget for the project

Performing accounting duties throughout the project, such as preparing invoices, estimating cash flow and signing off of purchase orders

Analyzing all transactions and working unforeseen costs into the budget

Keeping record of all project finances for internal/external auditing and tax purposes

Preparing cost analyses by interpreting project’s financial data and information
-
Researching market trends and projecting construction related price increases/decreases

Establish an accounting management system

Submit monthly returns to Malawi Revenue Authority
Qualification, Experience and Competencies

A Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in accounting or finance
-
A minimum of 5 years working experience in accounting or financial management
-
Excellent knowledge of construction cost accounting and related financial procedures

Familiarity with accounting software e.g. QuickBooks
-
Solid analytical and mathematical skills

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast -paced environment
