Your duties will include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Immediate response to customer’s demands for stock items generated through both on-line and manual stock requisitions.
  • To ensure that where required goods are stored according to the suppliers/manufacturer’s instructions (e.g. air conditioned away from direct light, dry and protected).
  • Understand criticality of binning of Goods and can demonstrate binning of items correctly.
  • To ensure that goods requiring special handling or storage risk are handled as per safety policy and requirements.
  • Meeting the set target of number of line items to be issued and received on a daily basis.
  • Maintain clean and efficient warehouse premises and a properly maintained clean yard by applying “clean as you go” on all tasks undertaken.
  • Follow directions provided by senior Store man and complete tasks as requested.
  • Record, take action and inform team leader of the problem or possible improvement.
  • Identify problems or possible improvements in our activities, services or procedure and report accordingly to the team leader.
  • To update in Sap all issues made or being returned into stock within 48 hours.
  • To keep the Pick Back log less than 10 by the end of every week.
  • To receive goods on site of the right quality, quantity and from the right source.
  • To update in Sap all goods received within 48 hours.
  • To report all discrepancies and take corrective action within 48 hours.
  • Operation of forklift for works associated with day-to-day activities in the warehouse and yard.
  • To ensure that there is an uninterrupted flow of required goods and materials to LMC operations.
  • To ensure that incoming stock, direct charge purchases and contractors materials are safely off-loaded before being on-forwarded to their correct delivery or storage location.
  • To maintain the condition and shelf life of stock.
  • To ensure the accurate identification and labeling of stock items.
  • To identify hazards and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Physically pick and issue stock to customers.
  • Confirm the accuracy and condition of stock prior to issue.
  • Ensure that it is appropriately marked, packaged and placed in the correct delivery or pickup area.
  • Physically receive, check off and bin stock items which are dispatched from central receiving, and process the received stock from goods in transit status to current stock on hand balance.
  • Unload incoming freight carriers through the use of forklifts and associated materials handling equipment.
  • Demonstrate the safe and correct method of handling various types of materials.
  • Stock and direct charge items within the Designated Area, such that they arrive at the correct location and at the right time.
  • Liaise with end users when the delivery requires their participation or notification
  • Carry out regular stock maintenance and housekeeping tasks.
  • Safely transport and deliver requisitioned stock and direct charge items outside of the Designated Area, such that they arrive at the correct location and at the right time.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum of a Certificate in Purchasing & Supply Chain Management or Equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years previous experience in Warehouse & Inventory Management preferably in the mining environment.
  • Must have good attention to detail.
  • Must be Computer literate with competence in MS excel with exposure to Pronto or equivalent.
  • Must have Valid Zambian driving licence
  • Member of the Zambia Institute of Purchasing & Supply.
  • Demonstrate awareness of EHS safety practices throughout all areas of the Site.
  • Behave in a safe manner that prevents injury to oneself and to others.
  • Compliance with safety practices and procedures as outlined in safety inductions and training
  • Reporting of unsafe or hazardous conditions.
  • Promote effective communications within the team.
  • Adhere to the Site Drug and Alcohol policy.
  • Not permitted to operate fixed or mobile machinery unless trained, competent and authorized
