Responsibilities
Coordinates program implementation activities and documents lessons learned.
Follows up on activities for completion of a plan or seeks collaborative input from colleagues internal and external to the Program Implementation team.
Contributions:

- Workplan: articulate and regularly update a detailed costed work plan and activity plan that tracks outputs
- Reporting: lead and coordinate the development of reports (presentations, donor reports, monthly reports, activity reports etc.); upload and update records in the Grants Management System
- Compliance: draft memos relevant to rules and regulations; and support project staff in understanding regulations
- Financial management: monitor project budget-lines and Budget versus Actuals
- Partnership management: maintain good relationships with relevant authorities in Addis Ababa, as well as other target areas in Ethiopia, ensuring they are kept up to date about Search’s programming and engage them as needed. Establish local partnerships, including with sub-awardees, and support their capacity building, work plan, budget, and contract while managing their compliance
- Create the procurement plan and ensure it is followed. Coordinate with project vendors (e.g., hotel, cater, printing, transportation, etc.)
- Personnel Management: supervise Interns and Assistants as assigned, support in building staff capacity as needed, provide support in the recruitment of staff as needed
- External Engagement: Coordinate with partner staff in project implementation and activities, ensure effective communication with project stakeholders, draft materials for stakeholders (donor/partners/target groups)
- Note and record challenges and lessons learned from project implementation via activity and monthly reports, and support the identification and preparation of communications materials to share key lessons and project results

Education and Experience:
-
- Bachelor’s degree in conflict and peacebuilding studies, international relations, political sciences, or related field
- A minimum of 6 years’ experience in the design or implementation of projects in the peacebuilding, media, or development field
- At least 3 years’ experience in media/digital peacebuilding/technology for social change
- Computer literate and experience using MS Office packages
- Cross-cultural sensitivity & experience
- Experience working in an International NGO within the Horn of Africa is an advantage
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills in English and Amharic; any other language (Oromo, Somali, Tigrinya, Afar) is an advantage
- Thorough understanding of conflict trends in Ethiopia, national efforts on peace and conflict resolution, and relevant stakeholders in the peace and security space
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

- Usual office environment conditions; ability to travel to Kenya & Somalia at least 20%.
