Currently there is a significant focus on the commercialisation of discovered gas within the two fields which Tullow operates as well as extending our exploration acreage within the country.

To ensure effective delivery, the Senior Commercial Advisor will need to build, manage and, maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to influence and best represent Tullow interests and values.

The role will also include managing of existing gas sales agreements, project analysis and review of existing contracts.

The following are the key roles and responsibilities of the successful candidate

Building and refreshing domestic, regional, and international market analysis

Contributions to the drafting and negotiations of fully termed Gas Sales Agreement and ancillary agreements.

Structuring and negotiating agreements with the central government and government entities that would secure access to additional acreage

Identify and consider potential initiatives to improve value in the assets

Involvement in commercial negotiations, dispute resolution and development of commercial aspects of asset strategies, including presentation and advocacy at senior corporate level internally and with counter-party peers externally.

Work with BU teams to provide commercial and economics advice and analysis to the business.

Work with Planning team and as necessary external advisers and data providers to develop and deploy appropriate project analysis and evaluation.

Ad-hoc commercial support to the Ghana Commercial Manager and BU leadership team.

Compliance with IMS processes. Support internal commercial approval processes as applicable (GATE, ATN, Peer reviews, Risk Management).

Establishing and building relationships with key JV and government counterparties, as appropriate.

Working with Country Managers/Rep to deliver key meetings (TCM/OCMs)

Provide additional commercial support to lenders DD process and structures and supply chain.

Knowledge/Qualifications

A minimum of bachelor’s degree in business, management, finance or an engineering or science discipline

Skills /Professional Experience

Substantial and broad previous experience in working in assets across the full E&P lifecycle (7+ years), gas experience preferable

Demonstrated positive track record of working with joint venture parties and governmental bodies.

Substantial experience in working in a functional area, commercial, finance, technical, subsurface or other within E&P.

Economic modelling in excel experience desirable

Has sound business judgement, initiative, and commercial acumen, sorting through a combination of quantitative and qualitative information, to arrive at a robust course of action.

Proven working knowledge of petroleum economics, decision driven and value of information analyses and is able apply the latter to make informed decisions.

Able to deliver under pressure, sometimes with conflicting priorities and managing internal and external tensions.

Excellent communicator, including presentation skills and quality reporting capability. Able to succinctly convey required key messages and decisions at senior and working levels.

Ability to work cross functionally and discuss with confidence subjects outside direct area of technical expertise, understanding the interrelationships between functional areas and their application to and impact on the business.

Able to identify and quantify risks to the business and able to propose risk mitigation tactics, identifying the key decisions required.
