Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and supervise custodial staff to ensure a clean and comfortable school environment.
- Coordinate the activities of custodial staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Develop and implement cleaning procedures and protocols to maintain cleanliness standards.
- Ensure proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and supplies.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify areas for improvement and take corrective actions.
- Maintain cleanliness of classrooms, offices, cafeterias, sports facilities, and toilets.
- Collaborate with other departments to address specific cleaning requirements and prioritize tasks.
- Monitor inventory and submit timely requisitions for restocking cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Handle email requests and inspection findings.
- Schedule school break work plans and follow up until all tasks are completed.
- Monitor and control cleaning staff attendance.
- Maintain custodial budgets and ensure efficient resource allocation.
- Respond to custodial emergencies and urgent cleaning requests promptly.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and advancements in cleaning techniques and equipment.
- Foster a positive and respectful work environment among custodial staff.
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree in Office Management or Management with 2 years of experience as a custodial supervisor or in a similar responsibility or Diploma in a similar field with 4 years of experience as a custodial supervisor or in a similar responsibility.
- Certification in using MS Office suite
- Certification in hygienic practices and cleaning chemicals is highly desirable.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proven knowledge and understanding of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and their appropriate usage in a school environment.
- Ability to coordinate the work of outsourced staff
- Through understanding of cleaning detergents and chemicals and their proper usage
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high cleanliness standards
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle and resolve conflicts within the custodial team if and when it happens.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Willingness to work overtime or respond to emergencies as needed.
