Job description

  • Ensure good operation practices.
  • Controlling waste dumps, ramps and road building, general road maintenance.
  • Ensure that material is moved according to plan and instructions.
  • Inspecting and maintaining dumps, ramps and haul roads as per set down standards.
  • Achieve daily targets of machine utilization for their area and ensure that crews are achieving productivity target for their area.
  • Identify and assist in implementing improvements to road construction and maintenance processes and techniques to optimise project objectives and targets and report on the outcomes.
  • Maximizing crew and employee performance and safety through training and matching of employee experience to daily equipment allocation and priorities.
  • Ensure compliance of safe mining practices.
  • Developing and promoting a positive employee relations environment within the operations crew and across shifts.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Report all substandard/unsafe conditions to Coordinator.
  • Operate safely by following procedures,
  • Keep KPI’s levels high.
  • Ensure that Log Book entries are done after every shift.
  • Ensure that tasks given by Coordinator are executed.
  • Ensure that all handovers are done correctly and accurately.
  • Ability to operate a two –way radio and knowledge of all emergency procedures.
  • Ensure that incidents, accidents are reported immediately and that reports are completed in full and handed to Coordinator.
  • Ensure that per-checks are done on all equipment and LV’s – report defects immediately.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Comply with current environmental regulations in Zambia.
  • Comply with the commitments contained in the Environmental Impact Studies and other additional studies in this regard, which apply to your area and activities.
  • Comply with the provisions of the Trident Environmental Management System.
  • Machine Operation Monitoring
  • Quality Control Analysis
  • Working knowledge of earth moving equipment
  • Basic knowledge of condition monitoring
  • Job specific equipment selection ability
  • Report writing skills
  • Knowledge of geometry
  • Excellent supervisory skills
