Responsibilities: Senior Analyst – Microbiology

Ensure prompt analysis of raw materials, semi-finished and finished products and all line controls are carried out within the stipulated time for on time releases.

Ensure sampling and analysis of environmental sweepings and swabs to exclude pathogen contamination of the lines and products

Manage media stock and ensures the availability of sterilized media and reagents for microbiological analysis

Ensure daily monitoring and update of all Internal Control Plan (ICP) charts for all equipment and media

Supervision and on-the-job training of analysts in microbiological methods.

Ensure that monthly air test and weekly water analysis are done on time and the results documented.

Ensure prompt results entry into the system (SAP).

Responsibilities: Senior Analyst – Chemistry

Co-ordinate good laboratory practices within Tema factory to ensure reliable results of analytical work in a safe environment.

Conduct physical and chemical analysis of raw materials and finished products promptly for quick releases into the system (SAP).

Monitor Internal control Plan (ICP) of equipment and reagents according to agreed frequency.

Ensure that analytical data is captured electronically and trended.

Responsible for entry of analytical results into the system (SAP) promptly for release.

Co-ordinate the calibration, validation and monitoring of milkoscan at milk processing.

Any other job assigned by the Chemist.

Good Formal knowledge of Microbiological Analysis

Good analytical skills and the drive to successfully conduct system reviews and operationalize necessary changes

Good communicative skills

Good working knowledge of production processes.

Minimum Educational qualification: 

Minimum Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline

Minimum Relevant work experience:

Minimum 2 years’ work experience in a Food, Chemical, Pharmaceutical or Medical laboratory.
