Job description

  • Utilize engineering fundamentals to independently identify, propose, analyze, and design cost effective maintenance system that drive growth, reduce costs, improve quality, and keep plant at the top in manufacturing sites/competitors.
  • Lead and coordinate the Factory Maintenance team and maintain competencies, motivation, and performance to achieve the team’s mission and objectives.
  • Asset Planning – Manage the factory’s engineering data in respect to the formulation of the Business Strategy and that the correct decisions are made in respect to the factory assets.
  • Project Management – Monitor the factory’s capital investments. Ensure the justification, request for approval and reporting are in line with the Guidelines for Capital Investment.
  • E&A – Ensure that the electrical services, degree of automation and EMS are in line with the business requirements.
  • Propose and monitor Factory Engineering key performance indicators.
  • Drive innovation / renovation within the factory
  • Ensure that projects are designed with a high degree of flexibility to better enable the operations to adjust to a changing environment keeping in mind safety and the environment.
  • Ensure engineering operates as part of a multi-functional team with clear and open communication.

Strategic Effectiveness

  • Extensive knowledge of food engineering fundamentals and applications, knowledge of statistics, design of experiments, problem solving techniques, engineering economics
  • In-depth knowledge of food processing plant and technology.
    – Maintenance technologies.
    – Operation of utilities.
  • Knowledge of food safety, regulatory requirements for food safety and hygienic engineering.
  • SAP
  • Planning and organization.
  • Analytical skills in problem solving.
  • Communication and networking.
  • Understanding of financial analysis and relevant business drivers.
  • Project Engineering/Management – Plant Design & Construction

Operational Effectiveness

  • Responsible for efficient and prompt maintenance and repair of plant machinery.
  • Ensure that engineering drive the energy and environment reporting system.
  • Ensures that workers adhere to hygienic standards and safety regulations.
  • Ensure that staff under his control is working according to factory rules and regulations.
  • Manages spares master data and do the necessary changes and updates.
  • Exercises strict control over absences, lateness, overtime discipline etc
  • Does any job assigned to him and takes full responsibility for work done.

Requirements

  • Degree in engineering, preferably mechanical / electrical / chemical / process engineering.
  • Minimum 8 – 10 years’ experience in a technical field, preferable in food manufacturing or consumer goods industry, including Maintenance responsibilities.
  • Must be fluent in both oral and written English
  • Strong technical and managerial skills.
  • Experience expected to have resulted in a solid record of accomplishment.
