Job description

Job purpose:

The Dispatch Officer – Abattoir is responsible for the accurate, timely, and secure dispatch of dressed chicken products from cold rooms and chillers to delivery trucks. The role ensures correct quantities, proper quality and temperature, accurate documentation, and prevention of fraud. The position holder is expected to follow the set rules, regulations and guidelines of BPUL while ensuring the accomplishment of goals and targets given by Management.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Handling

  • Ensure FIFO is followed
  • Stage and load products correctly
  • Retrieve products from the cold rooms
  • Ensure temperature (0°C – 4°C)
  • Prevent dispatch of damaged products
  • Report quality issues immediately

Documentation & Accuracy

  • Verify quantities against documents
  • Ensure all documents are accurate and signed

Loading Control

  • Ensure trucks are clean and pre-cooled
  • Load correctly by route

Fraud Prevention

  • No product leaves without documentation
  • Verify all quantities
  • Report discrepancies

Coordination

  • Work with dispatch, cold room, drivers, and sales teams

Carry out any other duties as requested by the Supervisor

Education:

Minimum Academic Qualifications:

Degree or Diploma in Sales and Marketing, Business Administration, training in customer care or related field.

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in dispatch or FMCG
