The role requires experience in primary school teaching, lesson resource sourcing and creation, knowledge of e-learning as well as the ability to manage multiple projects at once and to work independently.
Responsibilities and expectations include
- Support the work to create schemes of work and curriculum maps for teachers using a variety of resources
- Ensure curriculum resources are in line with Impact Network’s Curriculum Framework and the Zambian National Primary School Syllabus and other government priorities
- Develop high quality lesson plans with learner-centered and activity-based strategies
- Take an active role in the development of new curriculum resources for teachers and students
- Reformat, upload and organize digital learning materials
- Assist in coordinating materials and resources for intervention and enrichment programing
- Contribute to the development of high-quality teacher training materials
- Attend regular meetings with the academics’ team and provide updates to improve decision making for the program
- Aid in the finalization of exams and assessments as needed
- Compile weekly, monthly and termly reports as requested
- Additional tasks based on organization needs
Requirements
- Should have teacher qualifications with 2+ years relevant work experience
- Experience teaching in at the primary school level using learner-centered methods
- Experience developing lessons and curriculum resources for primary students
- Tech skills: typing, e-mail, internet browsing, Microsoft Office, smartphone apps
- Integrity, punctuality, reliability and attention to detail
- The ability to troubleshoot and provide reasonable solutions as problems arise
- Good time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- Target-driven; comfortable with planning to targets and motivated to achieve them
- Persistent; willing to go the distance to get things done well
- Experience working with rural community schools is a plus
- Residents of Eastern Province will be given preference
