Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and optimise all finance management processes:
- Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and analysis across the organisation.
- Track annual budgets, reporting, and planning for the organisation.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly financial forecasts.
- Oversee annual internal and external audit processes.
- Keep DCEO & CEO abreast of matters affecting the financial status of the organisation.
- Deliver concise yet fit-for-purpose DCEO & CEO and board briefings on the financial health of the organisation monthly, quarterly, and yearly.
- Enhancement of financial management processes to drive better decisions in support of accelerated growth.
- Prepare the organisation for sub-award management by tightening controls and focusing on accountability and regular checking of the work of other staff in the department.
- Line-manage the Senior Finance Officer/Finance Manager and ensure their responsibilities are carried out accordingly.
- Ensure that all financial administration and reporting are carried out, including filing documents with the appropriate regulatory authorities and coordinating the monthly management accounts meeting.
- Lead on developing our finance systems, ensuring they are best practices.
- Oversee and optimise all operations management processes.
- Ensure that the working environment (including our work culture) and benefits offered are appropriate and available for the staff.
- Ensure that all staff have appropriate training and capacity available.
- Lead on creating a culture that is excellent and nourishing for staff and volunteers.
- Play a key role in shaping the internal culture of the organisation.
- Oversee internal processes leading to the development of the organisation.
- General responsibilities:
- Support the DCEO.
- Participate in ot-finance-related work within the organisation, such as monitoring projects in districts, partner engagement meetings, campaigns/outreaches, and events.
- Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor are reasonably required to ensure the smooth running of the organisation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or its International Equivalent – Finance, Accounting, or Related Field;
- Full CA Zambia, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
- MBA preferred.
- Fully paid-up member of ZICA (essential requirement)
- Minimum eight years experience, three of which must be at senior level in the NGO sector, especially in financial management, and grants.
- Demonstrated experience in NGO sector, governance, organisational capacity building, advocacy, rule of law, or other related democracy and governance sectors highly desired; and
- Excellent computer skills, especially in spreadsheet & data analysis (excel & access), and familiarity with accounting software like QuickBooks preferred.
- Familiarity with USAID/CDC/EU/SIDA programming, rules and regulations is highly desired.
- Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative team approach.
- A multi-tasker with the ability to wear many hats in a fast-paced environment.

- Excellent communication and organisational skills; and
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
