This position is located within the Commission on Human Rights on South Sudan, Office of the High Commissioner on Human Rights (OHCHR), based in Juba, South Sudan. The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Chief of Investigations of the Commission on Human Rights in South Sudan
Education:
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent degree) in law, political science, international relations, social sciences or related field. A first-level university degree in the mentioned fields of studies, in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Work Experience:
- A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible work experience in human rights is required.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience carrying out human rights investigations is required.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience carrying out investigations on sexual and gender-based violence or conflict related sexual violence is desirable.
Languages:
- English and French are the working languages of the United Nations. For this position, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another UN language is an advantage.
