Job description

The Project Manager will manage the implementation of global health security project activities, including providing technical support for GHSA-related activities, managing work plans and budgets, monitoring project implementation, strategic planning for GHSA, mobilizing resources, and leading/supervising staff.

Overall Responsibilities
  1. Participate in project work planning, budgeting, implementation, and performance management.
  2.  Support the PD in monitoring the implementation of systems/policies/SOPs to ensure project compliance with Baylor Foundation Uganda and donor regulations.
  3. Manage a diverse team of project staff.
  4. Provide technical assistance and support to national and sub-national teams.
  5.  Support the PD in developing and maintaining strategic partnerships and networks between BFU and relevant development partners and implementing partners to enhance the growth and sustainability of GHSA.
  6. Participate in resource mobilization activities, including grant writing.
  7. Develop and lead the implementation of innovative approaches to implementing GHSA activities.
  8. Support the Ministry of Health in the implementation of the national action plan for health security and implementation of the IHR Monitoring and Evaluation Framework
  9. Coordinate project report writing and ensure timely submission.
  10. Coordinate knowledge management of the project, including documentation and dissemination of best practices.
Required Qualification, Experience and Competencies:

2.     At least seven (7) years of working experience, with four (4) years of program experience at the managerial/coordinator level in a reputable organization.

  • 1.   A master’s degree in a health-related field. Postgraduate or master’s in project management or advanced Field Epidemiology training is an added advantage.
